21 years ago, the Festival Cour des Capucins was launched with the aim of bringing contemporary dance to Luxembourg. Back then, nobody dared think that within only two decades, a colourful and diversified dance scene would develop in the Grand Duchy.

Today, Luxembourg is proud of the creative work of an increasing number of professional choreographers. Contemporary dance has become established as a recognised art form in our country, and the Festival reflects this accomplishment with its relaunch this year as „Danz Festival Lëtzebuerg“, featuring nine pieces and excerpts from pieces by choreographers working in Luxembourg.

Over the next two years, the Danz Festival Lëtzebuerg will gradually expand its geographical area. For the cultural year 2007, the Festival will invite dance groups and choreographers from the Greater Region.
