“Solo con Piano” is a piece of music and choreography
in
which an interpreter, dancer and piano player fi nds his point of
expression in the relation of his body with the piano.
Dance and music have always been linked to one another. In his
performance, the dancer creates a relation between them, he
organizes them and plays with them. The presence of the piano
and the dancer on stage, their mutual positions build a scenographic
space; their interaction creates development and dramatic
course.
In “Solo con Piano”, Gianfranco Celestino compares dance
and
music, the dancing body and the musical instrument, by creating
a diversifi ed visual and acoustic landscape.

Up to the age of 25 years my life revolved around playing the piano.
One day I told myself: I love music, it is a part of my being, but
there is something I miss. Something important, something more physical.
When I happened to see a dance performance, I understood what I had
been dreaming of and how I would evolve, employing what I had already
learned. |
