The favorite partner of „Luxembourg and Greater Region 2007“ will be the Romanian city of Sibiu in Transylvania, Romania. DanseEntreDeux tries to profit of this partnership in order to establish an artistic project of contemporary dance between choreographers and dancers from Romania and Luxemburg and to promote the exchange and the artistic collaboration between the two countries. The audition will consist in a series of improvisations and discussions based on the dancers‘ memories and dreams. The workshop is also open to participants who do not want to take part in the audition. Requirements: Professional dancers based/ working in Luxembourg or in the Greater Region, with good movement capacity and improvisation technique. He or she should be available to work in Luxembourg for a 4 week period in May 2007. Performances in Luxembourg from June 26 to July 4 and in Sibiu and Bucharest from August 25 to September 3, 2007. Biography: He studied contemporary dance with Raluca Ianegic, Adina Cezar, Miriam
Raducanu (RO), Christine Bastin, Dominique Bagouet, Georges Appaix, Cathrine
Countour (FR) with Emio Greco (HOL), Ko Murobushi (Japan) and Andrew
Harwood (CA). Between 1992 – 1994, he collaborated as a dancer
with the French choreographer Christian Trouillas for the performance “Le
Grand Jeu”. He was a co-founder of Marginalii Group, the first
independent dance group in Romania created after 1990. In 1996, he founded
his own DCM dance company. Since 2000 Cosmin Manolescu is currently developping
projects with Romanian and international artists. In 1996 he was selected
by PEJA for a residency in Forum Danca (Lisbon) where he created in collaboration
with Portuguese artists a site-specific performance “No Angels”.
In 2000, he colaborated with Marie Gabrielle Rotie (London), to create “Human
Zoo” (two solos and one duet). In 2003 in collaboration with Eduard
Gabia and Mircea Ghinea he created serial paradise, a performance that
was toured extensivly internationally. Between 2004 – 2005 in collaboration
with Kira Riikonen (Finland) and Roberto Casarotto (Italy) Cosmin Manolescucreated “don’t
ask the blond”, a live-installation dance performance that was
presented in Finland, Italy, France, United Kingdom and Romania. Awards and fellowships: American Dance Festival (1994), European Young Artists Pepinieres (1996), The Award of Soros Center for contemporary arts (Bucharest, 1998), DanceWeb (Vienna 1999), Sadco Prize (Bucharest 2001), ArtsLink Fellowship (USA,2002), Grand Prix for “serial paradise” awarded by experimental “Atelier” Theatre Festival (2003), SACD and Sogeda Awards for the project “Don’t Ask The Blond”, Monaco Dance Forum (2004), “Nouvelle Talent Choregraphie” (SACD Prize 2005).
