“Back to the Roots with Jimy” is the creation of a solo.
It is a dance theatre piece in the form of a personal narration.
It is the trial of a return. Progressing from a state of separation and confusion towards an integrated, connected and healthy being.
Coming from Luxembourg, Tania Soubry studied at the Sead (Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance) and at the Laban Center in London. She participated in classes and workshops, like for example the “Dance Web” in 2002 in Vienna or at the Trisha Brown Company in New York.
She works now as a choreographer, teacher and dancer. As well as creating her own pieces, she also works with other companies (Explorer, Zephyr in Zanussi, Athina Vahla). Her choreographical work has been presented twice at the Danz Festival Lëtzebuerg and also at the Bonnie Bird Theatre in London. In 2004, she was part of the international tour of the “Dance Roads” with her piece “Wholly”. In 2006 she appeared at the Repérages / Danse à Lille festival with the creation "it (instead of twenty-one words)".
