Two partners and one guest: Luxembourg and Nancy are proud to invite Zagreb to join this year's dance festival. Reaching out beyond the Greater Region, the former Danz Festival Lëtzebuerg becomes “Le Transfrontalier”. Within the new frame, the Danz Festival Lëtzebuerg and the CCN-Ballet de Lorraine present choreographers of more than ten different nationalities to present their work in three cities: 3-10 July in Luxembourg, 8-12 July in Nancy and 13-19 October in Zagreb, Croatia. Brimming with creative ideas, the programme is organised in three evenings, featuring three choreographers each, one from each country. In each of them, Luxembourg, France and Croatia, this programme will be accompanied by additional performances and artistic concepts. In Luxembourg, the opening evening on 3 July takes the motto “come back to Luxembourg”: choreographers working in Luxembourg improvise on their experiences with departure and return to Luxembourg for their careers. On 5 July, a conference on the history of contemporary dance in Croatia showcases similarities and differences between the two countries. And from 15 to 18 and 22 to 24 July, Bernard Baumgarten and Claude Mangen take the public on a three-hour journey from the Mierscher Kulturhaus to the Centre des Arts Pluriels d’Ettelbrück: “MISCHAderFALL” is an itinerary between different artistic forms and structures. The dance festival “Le Transfrontalier” continues the success story of the cultural year 2007, bringing together artists from Luxembourg and the Greater Region – all the while taking it to a new level by inviting artists from Croatia. For choreographers working and living in Luxembourg this means new contacts and inspiration as well as an enlarged platform for the presentation of their work, reaching out to an international public and gaining experience in the international dance world.
